Logo Pre-Testing Workshops Program - Helping you become a Microsoft Certified
Partner
Getting your application Windows Logo certified demonstrates to
your customers that your application integrates with Windows and other Microsoft
platforms. The Windows Logo illustrates that your application is reliable and
will not cause downtime. Getting your application certified also qualifies you
for the Microsoft Certified Partner program.
In order to become Microsoft
Certified Partner you must obtain 50 partner
points.
In order to become Microsoft
Gold Certified Partner you must obtain 120 partner
points and earn at least one Microsoft
Competency.
Obtaining partner points.
The following table demonstrates how Windows Logo
Certification can earn you partner points. If you can provide 3 customer references for your certified
application you will qualify for the ISV Software Solutions Microsoft Competency
- earning you another 50 partner points!

Platform Test [more info] |
This test requires that you pass one Fundamental Component
Test (Windows Server or Windows Client), plus one additional component
test, either Fundamental or elective. Each component, fundamental or
elective earns you 10 Partner Points. By passing one Fundamental Component
Test and four Electives (choose from SQL Server, Web Services + .NET
Framework, Managed Code, Office, Mobile or the other Fundamental
component) you will earn 50 points required to be a Microsoft Partner.
Also note that the Windows Mobile elective component earns you 20 points
so if your application is Windows Mobile capable you only need to take the
Fundamental Component Test, Windows Mobile Test and two other electives to
earn your 50 partner points.
